Welcome to the Society for Creative Anachronism and the Shire of Vulpine Reach!
We are excited to have the opportunity to introduce you to Chattanooga’s medieval and Renaissance history organization. We invite you to take a few minutes to meet some of our participants and learn more about who we are and what we do. If you’re new to the Society, we encourage you to visit the Society of Creative Anachronism’s home website (located in a link to the right called Newcomer’s Portal) where you can see photos, videos, and descriptions of all the fantastic and exciting activities that await you in the SCA.
As you begin your journey with the Shire of Vulpine Reach, there are two easy steps you can take to get you connected to the group and its activities!
- First, we invite you to fill out our easy online (Newcomer’s Form) Newcomer’s Information Form to help us get to know you better.
- Second, join our online discussion group on Facebook so you can read and post messages throughout the shire.
Browse the resources listed to the right and if you have any further questions, feel free to contact our Chatelaine at any time.
We encourage all newcomers to download our special FoxTales Newcomer’s Edition of our local newsletter. In the Newcomer’s Edition, you will find numerous articles that provide a great introduction to the Society and our shire written by local and regional shire participants!
Participants 17 and Younger: We welcome youth participants at our activities and many of our events feature classes, games, and other fun opportunities for children and young adults. While you do not need a parent or guardian to attend shire meetings and practices (though one must be present to participate in combat activities), you must be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian to attend an SCA event (such as Tourney of the Foxes). If your parent(s) or legal guardian(s) is unable to attend, they may designate an adult to be responsible for you during the event and must fill out and have the responsible adult bring the “Adult in Charge of a Minor” and “Notarized Medical Authorization” waiver forms found in the links to the right.
